A LEWCO customer had an existing 350°F oven for curing bricks. The old system used a series of transfer cars on a track pushed by fork lifts. It became inefficient and breakdowns were frequent.
Together, the Integrator and LEWCO developed an indexing style of CDLR35 conveyor. This conveyor had to fit in a tight space, had to handle (up to) 5,500# wood pallets of bricks every 15 minutes, and allow for interfacing with four sets of automatic doors.
Custom construction features included supports designed to anchor to the existing narrow rails, guide rings on the rollers (because of the very narrow width), 600°F lubricant in the bearings, and remote drive units mounted outside of the oven. The customer modified the oven to accommodate the remote drives. We used a higher speed conveyor at the doors to reduce the heat loss time. The remaining long conveyors in the oven ran at much slower speed.
LEWCO offers a quality product that is cost effective and built to the highest industry standards. Reduction in manual material handling, improved product flow, better ergonomics and elimination of shipping damage are just some of the benefits of a well-designed LEWCO conveyor system.
