SHIPPING SUPERVISOR – 1st Shift

We have an immediate opportunity available in Sandusky, OH for a Shipping Supervisor with our manufacturing operation. This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing equipment for shipment both nationally and internationally, including any same day requirements via expedited carrier services. This role analyzes shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods needed to meet shipping schedules. In addition, this position will be responsible for ensuring that inventory management for incoming and outgoing products and parts necessary to the manufacture of products.

 

KEY DUTIES:

 

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in warehousing, shipping, logistics operations as well as three (3) years of “hands-on” supervisory experience. Strong interpersonal communication skills, in particular effectively being able to coach employees for success. The successful candidate will have a high level of initiative and a strong attention to detail.

ROLLER FAB / ASSEMBLY OPPORTUNITIES – 2nd SHIFT

 We have an immediate opportunities available in Sandusky, OH for Roller Assembly and Fabrication operations on our second shift team (3:15 pm-11:45 pm). These positions either are involved in the cutting of steel parts to for rollers, the formation of parts to make a roller, or putting together or installing rollers in to streel frames.

KEY DUTIES:

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED. A minimum of one year recent work experience in the manufacturing environment required, with steel fabrication environment experience a plus. A proven record of excellent attendance and reliability. A high level of hand to eye coordination and understanding mechanical drawings is key. The successful candidate will have strong communication, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and mathematic skills; as well as a high level of attention to detail, quality, and safety.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

LEWCO, Inc., a world-class industrial equipment manufacturer, is seeking a Director of Operations to lead its manufacturing team. 

The Director of Operations is the top manufacturing executive in the company, reporting directly to the company president.  This individual oversees all manufacturing activities including fabrication and assembly, purchasing, inventory control, production scheduling, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and shipping.  The individual in this position works through managers and supervisors to maintain and improve the safety, quality and efficiency of manufacturing operations.          

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business.  A Master of Business Administration is preferred as well.  Extensive experience in capital equipment and metal shop manufacturing is absolutely required.  Candidates must demonstrate their ability to lead a team and produce results.

MACHINE OPERATOR – 2nd SHIFT 

We have an immediate opportunity available in Sandusky, OH for a Machine Operator on our second shift team (3:15 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.). This position will perform the operation of various metal working machinery to assist in the fabrication of a variety of steel products.  In addition, this position will be responsible for performing schedule quality checks/verifications during the production of various steel parts / products. 

KEY DUTIES: 

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED with some post-high school education / training / certification being a plus. A minimum of one year of work experience in manufacturing operations and the use of saws, shears, turret, laser, and press break equipment preferred. Strong communication and mathematic skills are required. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.

SUPERVISOR - CONVEYOR ASSEMBLY – 1st Shift

We have an immediate opportunity available in Sandusky, OH for a Supervisor to manage our first shift Conveyor Assembly operation (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.). This position will supervise and coordinate daily activities of those workers responsible for the assembly of various types of powered conveyor equipment that are used in large material handling systems.  This position will be responsible for ensuring the proper use of manpower, efficient use of resources, ensuring adherence to project deadlines as well as ensuring efficient and effective departmental operations. 

KEY DUTIES:

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Production/Operations Management, Supply chain or equivalent, five (5) years of experience in production/manufacturing and application of lean manufacturing concepts: as well as three (3) years of “hands-on” supervisory experience. The candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints; read and understand calibration and dimensional tolerance. The successful candidate will have a high level of initiative, a strong attention to detail; able define and recommend solutions to work problems; strong interpersonal communication skills’ as well effectively coach employees for improvement and success.

SR.  CONTROLS ENGINEER


We have an immediate opportunity available for a Senior Controls Engineer for our product lines.  This position will be responsible for the development or redesign of electrical controls for new or existing products.  An individual in this role will work from order requirements or other specifications to complete final control circuitry and program logic utilizing software and engineering calculations. The position interacts with customers while developing product solutions and closing new business. This position will provide technical expertise to less experienced engineering personnel as well as lead a team of Controls Engineers and/or CAD Designers per customer project requirements. 

KEY DUTIES:
• Review opportunities (RFQ) & specify company products to meet customer applications.
• Design electrical controls / control systems and provide technical support for LEWCO products.
• Write PLC, HMI, PC and other control programs using various software.
• Create sequence of operations, control schematics, and control panel layouts using CAD (Electrical) software in creating customer proposals and manufacturing.
• Create BOM’s and routings, as well as owner manuals, test procedures, or other deliverables.
• Perform required electrical computations for sizing electrical components.
• Prepare cost estimates for non-standard products
• Provide field support of Company products as needed.

The successful candidate will have at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years work experience that includes a working knowledge of NFPA 70, National Electrical Code, and NFPA 79 Electrical Standards for Industrial Machinery.  The candidate will possess a proven ability to troubleshoot electrical control circuits and a proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical. The position requires a solid working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and PC based control hardware and software. This role requires an individual who can establish collaborative relationships with engineering, sales, and production groups in meeting customer needs.  The successful candidate will have a high level of initiative, attention to detail, and able to manage multiple projects with varied deadlines.  This position will require occasional overnight travel to customer locations to serve as a key technical resource.

ASSEMBLER – 1st SHIFT

We have an immediate opportunities available in Sandusky, OH for Assemblers on our first (7 am-3:30 pm) shift team.  This position assembles unpowered and powered conveyor units and related equipment for large material handling systems. 

KEY DUTIES:

The candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 2 years maintenance or machine assembly experience.  A proven ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.  This position requires strong math skills (decimals, fractions, etc.), proven troubleshooting skills; as well as a high level of attention to detail, quality, and safety.

WELDERS – 2nd SHIFT

We have an immediate opportunities available in Sandusky, OH for Welders on our second (3:15-11:45 pm) shift teams. This position performs fit-up and welding of products from mechanical drawings using GMAW (mig) processes as required.  This position will also require the design and build of jigs and fixtures as needed.  

KEY DUTIES: 

 The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma/GED with post-high school education / training / certification in welding a plus. A minimum of one year weld experience desired.  A high level of understanding mechanical drawings is key. The successful candidate will have strong communication, problem-solving/troubleshooting, and mathematic skills; as well as a high level of attention to detail, quality, and safety.
